Yen Quiet on Holiday

Posted in Latest News by forex on the May 5th, 2006
USD/JPY trading remained light early Friday as Golden Week continues. While Japanese policy makers have tried to discredit speculation that the G-7 resolution two weeks ago indicated a weaker US dollar, the Yen remained strong against the greenback. With no Japanese data coming out today the pair will trade primarily off of US Non-Farm payroll data slated for a 12:30 GMT release today. As of 2:05GMT the pair was trading at 113.71, up slightly from Thursday’s New York close of 113.64.
Japanese capital markets were closed for the continuing Golden Week holiday.
